Data Protection rules will not hinder the sharing of personal information during these unprecedented times and we will continue to process information in accordance with national law and GDPR.

The processing of personal information relating to this is necessary for reasons of planning and providing health and social care to both individual data subjects and is in the substantial public interest in the area of public health and specifically to support the control of an epidemic. Video calls and Online Consultations

We may offer you a consultation via video call. By accepting the invitation and entering the consultation you are consenting to this. Your personal/confidential patient information will be safeguarded in the same way it would be with any other consultation. We may also invite you and your family member to enter into a video conference call with one another where hospital visitation is not possible or practical. By accepting this invitation and engaging in the video call you and your family members are consenting to this. Your personal/confidential patient information will be safeguarding in the same way it would be with any other hospital visitation. Where applicable we may also invite you to upload clinical photograpghy images to us directly, via text invitation. These images will be immediately filed to your medical record, By accepting this invitation and uploading the clinical photography images you are consenting to this.

Online consultations allow our patient to contact the Practice without having to wait on the phone especially if a patient is not sure whether they need a face to face consultation. Online consultations enable patients to use a secure online system via out website or patient access to report symptoms; the system offers advice, signposts and useful resources during the online consultation process. The online consultation is filed, immediately upon submission to the medical record. We will respond to the online consultation within 2 working days with appropriate advice or support

Extended Access is the offer of pre-bookable appointments outside GP practices’ core contractual hours, either in the early morning, evening (until 9.30pm) or at weekend and on bank holidays.

For life threatening emergencies – Call 999 for an ambulance

For urgent dental treatment: call your dentist or  call the Lancashire and South Cumbria Dental help line number 0300 1243 010. The helpline will assess dental needs and if urgent signpost to relevant service.

The online consult service has clinically approved , GP-authored information covering a number of topics with self-help videos and resources. Submit a routine query and we will respond in two working days.
