DPN for GP data for planning and research (GPDPR)

NHS Digital issued a Data Provision Notice (DPN) on 12 May to all practices in England notifying them of their intention to begin extracting data as part of the GP Data for Planning and Research (GPDPR) programme. GPDPR is the successor to the GP Extract Service (GPES) and it is a legal requirement for practices to comply with the DPN.

How to opt out

If you don’t want your identifiable patient data to be shared for purposes except for your own care, you can opt-out by registering a Type 1 Opt-out or a National Data Opt-out, or both. These opt-outs are different and they are explained in more detail below. Your individual care will not be affected if you opt-out using either option.

Download the Opt-out form here, complete and either post or drop off at reception. We will update your medical record within 2 working days of receipt.
