Move for Health

Move for Health is a new 12 week programme of physical activity sessions aimed at increasing mobility and activity levels for those with a long term health condition. Sessions have been funded through the Morecambe Bay CCG Population Health fund and supported by Active Cumbria and the South Lakeland Health and Wellbeing Partnership.

Sessions are targeted at individuals with Diabetes, Hypertension, or a Respiratory Illness who are looking to or would benefit from increasing their physical activity levels.

Initially delivered online via Zoom, individuals will be supported to increase their activity by moving at their own pace, in their own way, and all from the comfort of their own homes.

Sessions are suitable for those either new or wishing to return to activity.  Sessions are due to commence from late April onwards and participants can be referred into the programme or can book their place directly by contacting e:[email protected] or t: 07717 320573. Extended Access is the offer of pre-bookable appointments outside GP practices’ core contractual hours, either in the early morning, evening (until 9.30pm) or at weekend and on bank holidays.

The online consult service has clinically approved , GP-authored information covering a number of topics with self-help videos and resources. Submit a routine query and we will respond in two working days.
