GP letters for school absence (COVID)

With schools starting back we have seen an increase in requests for GP’s to produce an absence letter to schools.

It is not a GP’s responsibility to issues school letters of absences for your children. Government guidance is that school attendance is mandatory unless they are self isolating, has symptoms of COVID-19 or is close to someone who has symptoms of COVID-19

We advise parents to follow government guidance at this time.
